Sunscreen

Good afternoon readers, so sorry for the lack of updates recently. Steph and I have been super busy! She recently graduated from Massage Therapy School and we have been working our little tails off with our Pure Decadence line. I hope you are all just as busy, healthy and happy.

Sunscreen...Everyone needs it no matter how dark your skin may be, we are all susceptible to skin cancer on some level. As much as we need it to protect our skin, we also need to be aware of what chemicals are in the bottle of sunscreen we are applying to our skin on a daily basis. Most people don't think of their skin as an organ, but in actuality it's the biggest organ we have! When we ingest chemicals through food or drink, our liver works as a filter, our skin on the other hand has no filter. This was the main reason I started making my own lotion.

Today I found a GREAT article put out by the Environmental Working Group, on the safest sunscreens. Their list includes sunscreens for children as well (for the concerned Mom’s out there.) You will find a range of products and prices. You can also type in the name of the sunscreen you are currently using and see how it rated on their safety scale. My old one didn’t do so well in the safety department so I switched to Neways, Sombrero which is 30 SPF. If you’d like more information on Sombrero or how to order it, feel free to email me at OneGreenGoddess@aol.com

Please check out the link below to see the EWG list of safest sunscreens, check to see if yours safe. If not, ditch it and find something healthier for that delicate organ of yours.

Until next time,
Galynne
